At this event we will dive into the creative process of eco-printing and tap into our connection with nature on our Yoga mats as well. For the eco-printing portions of the weekend, we'll explore the alchemy of water, plant materials, heat, and metal to make beautiful, one of a kind, botanical prints! We will be using provided foliage as well as foliage gathered from around the property. If you feel inclined, experiment with plants brought along with you from your garden or home. Each person can plan on creating 3 scarves during our time together on Saturday. Additional "ready for printing" scarves will be available for purchase if time allows.
On Sunday we will spend time together printing on paper. Each person can plan on creating a handful or more pieces on a variety of papers. Your finished eco prints can be used for making books, journals, cards, tags, collages, and can be embellished with hand stitching or pieces of ephemera.

Eco-printing presented by
Kendra Russo of
Found and Foraged Fibers
Eco Printing is a process of using plants to dye and print on fiber and other mediums through contact printing methods. At its core, eco-printing is the act of directly applying botanical elements (leaves, bark, flowers) to textiles and paper to alter and/or apply color and print impressions of the botanical material on to the textile or paper surface. Found and Foraged Fibers was birthed from a deep love of everything green and all of the bounty it provides us with. During this event, Kendra will show you processes that have worked well for her using specific equipment and bundling techniques that are used to create clear and vibrant prints. Be prepared for the wonderful smells that can only come from eucalyptus, and other natural leaves and be open to the magic!
